About The Lake Effect
One of the primary goals of our Writing Across the Curriculum Program is to foster conversations about writing across the college. To that end and as promised, we launch today the new Writing Across the Curriculum blog, The Lake Effect: A WAC Blog.
The inaugural posts are an introduction, giving some general information about blogging as well as how this blog fits the aims of our WAC program in its 25th year.
Watch every Wednesday for a new post on topics ranging from concepts of plagiarism and authorship in a digital world, the impact of social media on student writing, the literacy explosion we find ourselves smack in the middle of, to the specific ways Longview instructors have designed and managed writing projects in their courses.
Look to the blog regularly for lively discussions of our read-along book, Clay Shirky’s Here Comes Everybody, posts by guest bloggers, as well as profiles of Longview’s WAC pioneers and instructors.
